How do i find the sq footage of my counter tops?
i am replaceing my counter tops and want to verify the sq footage provided by the supplier
From watching the home improvement shows I see everyone and their mother is installing granite counter tops?
Now I know in a few years, they are going to " look dated" as they say a lot on these shows, and they will have to be removed and replaced with....what do you interior decorators see replacing these in 10 20 years. I hate them. I live in the cold country anyway and I think they, and the stainless steel appliances, do not give a warm feeling to a kitchen. What do you recommend for a more " cottage style" look that will look great for years to come?By " cold country" I mean northern US where it is 30 degree and below over 6 months out of the year.
What do you like/dislike about granite counter tops and what sink do you recommend?
I'm getting a kitchen remodel and will use granite what do you love hate about it and what kind of sink do you recommend? thanks for any help you can give me, this is a major undertaking and I hope to make the right choices from the start.thank you texperson I'm going to research what a 1 2 bull nose is and look into sealing I appreciate the help
Help with black granite counter tops?
just a few weeks we change our old counter tops with black granite . they look great now. in the morning we like to drink hot water with lemon juice. one morning we had a leak of lemon juice on the counter tops and now we have 3 oval shapes from the bottle of lemon water and cups. how can we remove them . thanks

Who has Corian counter tops?
I had Bedford Marble installed and I have VERY OBVIOUS seams. Bedford Marble is the Martha Stewart color but it is Corian. I am just curious if anyone else experienced this issue
How to remove kitchen counter tops?

Will adding granite counter tops in the kitchen increase the value of my attached townhouse?
My boyfriend and I just bought a new townhouse in a highly sought after golf course community suburb and we're trying to decide what upgrades to put in it. Laminate counter tops are included in the original price, but if we decide to upgrade to granite we are going to just get the laminate first and buy granite from a family friend and install it later at cost rather then pay the insane markup price builders charge for granite. Is this worth the extra money or should we just stick with the new laminate that is offered by the builder? Is it worth putting in granite counter tops in a townhouse or will it deter buyers in our price range?
I have 200 lbs of granite that I need to crush for counter tops.?
I'm having a heck of a time figuring out who or where to take it to to get it crushed. I need it to be 3 8" approximately. Breaking it up with a hammer is sheer lunacy. I live in the Spokane, WA area. Anybody got any ideas????

How do i cover gap between stove and counter top?
there are small gaps on both sides between my new freestanding range and the laminate counter tops. I have found nothing but very wide and ugly plastic strips. Are there any about 1 2 inch wide? Some have suggested caulking with silicone. Is this safe and does it hold up?
Can you replace base cabinets without replacing counter top?
I am currently remodeling my kitchen and need to do this in stages. It is possible to install new counter tops and then replace the base cabinets at a later date?
